I am an Associate Professor at Arizona State University, in the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College, Division of Educational Leadership and Innovation.
I came to the field of education by way of years of working in higher education, in an outreach program that gave me a variety of experiences in working with educational technology, online learning and graphic design. My interest in education, learning by design, and the psychology of creativity led me to pursue doctoral research in creative teaching and creative thinking skills. While my current research interests revolve around varied topics in education, creativity, and technology, I am particularly interested in creativity across disciplines, design thinking in education, the relationship between creativity and technology, and creative teaching and learning practices in education.
I have had a variety of teaching experiences in higher education (online, face-to-face, blended, and in overseas programs, across doctoral, master’s, and undergraduate levels of education) in areas of educational psychology, educational technology, design thinking, creativity, and research-based methods.
